Surprise Cheshire Cocktails at New Years Eve Party
On New Years Eve, we invited some of our good friends and family to celebrate the new year with us and welcome 2019, we live on the outskirts of Chester, Cheshire and most guests were local.
The first guests to arrive at the house were surprised and delighted that we were serving delicious drinks which thy could choose form the menu of cocktails. We decided to just mix the cocktails from the kitchen work top as and when required, (rather than set the whole bar up). The drinks included Prosecco cocktails, (Kir Royale, Bucks Fizz, Bellini and Champagne Cocktail) plus a Singapore Sling, Cosmopolitan and a Cheshire Cocktails favourite “The Godfather” cocktail. We aimed as always to get a good balance with the Prosecco, gin and whisky cocktails. The night went quickly and we had lots of fun mixing and teaching friends how to mix their favourites!! This soon got everyone in the party mood dancing and laughing were the order of the night.
The party was worthy of a New Years Eve celebration – it was a great night. New Year 2019 was celebrated with the traditional Auld Lang-Syne just after midnight and lots more dancing as well afterwards. We had canapés and nibbles during the evening and bacon or halloumi baps in the early hours to help soak up the alcohol.
We also had a ‘helper’ our niece Yasmine, who quickly learnt to mix the cocktails and serve the drinks to all the guests and was a big hit, Yasmine was brilliant!! I think s
he secretly enjoyed doing it!
All our guests commented, that it was the best New Years party they had ever been too! They have pencilled us in for next year!!! That’s fantastic feedback.
Surprisingly we and half the guests attended our local park run the next morning to run off the excesses but not many got a personal best this time!!
We are now looking forward to the next event: This will be a lovely wedding which promises to be a fun filled and relaxed event as weddings should be. Cheshire Cocktails look forward to being part of this special day.
What is your favourite “go to” cocktail drink at this January time of year?
