March Madness

March Madness

HELLO EVERYONE, we hope that you are keeping well and safe and staying home during this March Madness that sadly will probably extend into the next few months.

We firstly want to extend our heartfelt sadness for those that have had to cancel events including weddings, special birthday parties, hen nights and christenings with no option but to postpone their events into next year. We know that this was so difficult and cannot imagine your disappointment when you have put so much effort into each event and had been so looking forward to your special days. Please be reassured that here at Cheshire Cocktails we are here for you to help in anyway and help plan a new date when this madness is over. In the meantime stay safe and positive, health is so important and we all need to look after ourselves.

Here at Cheshire Cocktails we are taking the opportunity to do our spring clean, stock take and also look at developing new recipes that we will look forward to sharing with you in the future.

With that in mind we thought we would share a few interesting facts with you….

When mixing any alcoholic cocktail, the “Golden Rule” is, that it does not matter how many different types of alcohol you are mixing in the drink, it should all add up to a combination of 50ml. (a Double measure of alcohol). Or another way of measuring this is the “6 seconds” rule. i.e. when “free pouring” into the cocktail shaker, the pouring action should be no longer than 6 seconds. As you do not want to put too little alcohol in any cocktail, but just as importantly you do not want to “over face” the drink with too much alcohol in it. It’s all about the right balance of alcohol to the mixers that you are using. Then giving the cocktail, 10/15 good shakers over your shoulder so that the cocktail is mixed properly, before straining the drink into the glass.

Hope that dispels the myth that the more ingredients the stronger the cocktail!!!

Relax and enjoy! When making your cocktails.
