Hello Everyone and Happy Saturday! We hope that you are keeping well and safe, during this month of November.
For the Manhattan Cocktail, the origin or history of how this cocktail started is, in the 1800’s a gentleman by the name of Dr. Iain Marshall came up with the recipe for a party held in the name of Lady Randolph Churchill (Winston Churchill’s mother), in Manhattan Club, New York. USA.
How to make the above cocktail, you will need the following ingredients/equipment.
50ml Bourbon (we used Makers Mark)
25ml Sweet Vermouth
2 x drops Angostura Bitters
Maraschino Cherry (for the garnish)
Coupette Glass (or something similar from your cupboard)
This is a fairly straight forward cocktail to make but also very easy to drink too.
To make this cocktail, you will need to follow these simple steps:
Pre-chill the glass you are using, by pacing it in a freezer for 15mins. Then you will need to place a few ice cubes into the cocktail shaker glass. Pour 50ml Bourbon along with 25ml Sweet Vermouth into the glass too. Stir the drink with the bar spoon, for a minute or two, until mixed properly. Strain the drink as you pour the drink straight into the coupette glass. Place a couple of drops of Angostura Bitters into the drink. Finally, place a Maraschino into the drink, for the garnish.
Kick yourself back, relax and enjoy!
